Collagen Boost Facial

GetRadiant-Looking SkinYou Can See And Feel.

Microneedling is a popular service that boosts collagen in the skin to help reduce signs of aging, the appearance of scars, and more. It uses small, sterilized needles to prick the skin.

The purpose of microneedling is to generate new collagen and skin tissue to make the skin smoother, firmer, and more toned.

It is mainly used on the face and may reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne, scars, dark spots, and large pores.

How Does Microneedling Work

Microneedling stimulates the body’s own natural collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, skin laxity and scarring. The pinpricks from the sterilized needles cause slight injury to the skin and the skin then responds by making new tissue rich with collagen. This allows for dead and superficial skin to slough off after a couple of days, revealing younger looking skin that is brighter and more even in tone and texture.

The new skin tissue that is produced is thus more even in tone and texture. It is natural for the skin to lose collagen due to older age or injuries. This way, by stimulating the skin to produce new tissue, the additional collagen can help make the skin firmer.

Microneedling can be combined with dermal fillers or mesotherapy in order to increase their effectiveness.

Benefits of a Collagen Boost Facial

Microneedling has a growing list of benefits. The treatment rejuvenates the skin with minimal discomfort and almost no downtime, and can be personally adjusted to fit each person’s needs.

Another reason why many people are switching to microneedling is because it is significantly less expensive than laser therapy. Also, laser therapy involves the use of heat, which can have an effect on your skin’s pigmentation, whereas microneedling doesn’t.

Procedure for Microneedling

Throughout the procedure, your doctor will make tiny pricks underneath the skin with small, sterilized needles. The pinpricks are so tiny that you likely will not be able to notice them post-procedure.
Prior to the procedure, your doctor will apply a topical anesthetic to the area being treated. This numbs the skin during the actual procedure, which takes around 30-60 minutes. After the procedure, your doctor will end the session by applying a growth serum or calming treatment.
To help reduce the risk of discomfort during your treatment, a topical numbing cream is always applied before the procedure. While you may still feel pressure or a sensation similar to scratching during your procedure, you shouldn’t experience any actual discomfort.
There are a few temporary side effects to be aware of with microneedling. The procedure causes short-term swelling, redness, and skin flaking, which can last for a few days. Most people can return to wearing regular makeup within a day of treatment. Results vary depending on your baseline and goals. Improvements can typically be seen after just one session.
